jaygon:Even though I'm not exatly a beginner my question felt pretty basic
The forum for basic/beginner questions is "Get Started Fast": http://community.avid.com/forums/299.aspx
Or if you've got a non-beginner question, you'd post in the Media Composer - Mac forum: http://community.avid.com/forums/48.aspx
In reality, if you'd put your system specifications in your post or add them to your profile, then it wouldn't have mattered where you posted. Someone would've seen your post and been able to answer it, because they'd have known for sure what software you were using. The same group of people monitors the entire forum, so it's not like you can post somewhere where your post will be lost.
I hope that helps.

Thanks I've updated my specs now.
Perfecto! :)
Job ter Burg: Funny that the ‘Master Clip’ option is there, since that feature does not exist in regular MC, unless you buy the Symphony option.

Did we ever confirm that this nifty color correction feature— applying FX onto MasterClip or Segment-only—is now available on MC, as it is was on Symphony? Or has it been in MC all along... ?

No, relational color correction is still Symphony only.

I guess that screenshot then is going to be a mystery.. good to know about v8.9.4 if that’s the case.

It's just the regular old Symphony color corrector. I assume either jaygon forgot to mention it or didn't realize they had it.

Yes if I've got Symphony I didn't realise I had it.
I buy the monthly subscription when I need to. I only get the occassional editing job (I'm sure you worked that out!)
I just thought I was getting the latest Media Composer. What the hell is Symphony? (Lol, that's not a genuine question to the Forum....I think I can work that out)
Although I did just double check My Products in my Master Account and there's nothing about Symphony there. Just my current MC version

"Before the end of 1998 Avid shipped Symphony, a nonlinear noncompressed editing system for Windows NT that was priced at $150,000 for a basic turnkey system"

... and it hasn't been updated since. (Sorry I couldn't resist.)
"When I spent 60k on a discreet edit digisuite system 10 years ago someone came up to me to offer fcp 2, I said it was a scam too." -Ric
