my link selection toggle button seems to be stuck in the 'on' position.  when i try and click it off, i get a message that this button cannot be changed.  it stays like this in the source and also in the sequence window.  but if it stays on, then editing is impossible.  i'm pulling my hair out!  anyone have any ideas?

Also, i've noticed that my cursor shows up as a hand when i'm on the timeline.  I don't think it's supposed to be this way.  I'm also not able to select or change the mode i'm working in or any of the buttons on the far left of the timeline.  is this a timeline setting issue?

Close the Command Palette and then try again.

yes, that was the issue.  I haven't touched an Avid in over a year and it's like I have 2 left hands... thank you!
