At least we can stop moaning about how it still doesn't work with MC or Symphony despite working well with every other NLE.

So we won;t have a surface of MC/Symphony mobving forwards? Does that spell out the position of MC/Symphony in grading? 

 

By the way, it works very well with Baselight inside Avid for those searching a viable solution without round-tripping...

Hope compatibility of Artist Color won't be broken in future updates, since I'm very happy with this combo.

I always suspected it was the "translation" of the hardware inputn to the Symphony CC effect that was the lag issue. Other grading solutions were designed with hardware input as part of the expectation. With Symphonmy it was a late bolt on.

 

I do know that product management is lookign at options for the future in regards to the Artist Series of controllers.

as Avid decided to further develop the symphony features (Shape-Based Color Correction in new 2018.12, but couldn´t test it yet) I was wondering what will happen with the discontinued Avid Artist Color or input from other grading panels? At least support for the Artist color is planned until 21/12/2020 (http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/FAQ/End-of-support-dates) but are there any new plans on opening the internal avid color correction / symphony for other grading panels? Or will avid sell a new version of artist color panels?

This is my first post here

I've been having troubles with EuControl Workstation 19.5.0.514 and 19.5.1.44 on Mojave.

Whenever I hide an application (specifically DaVinici Resolve, but also Redcine X Pro 51) the Avid Artist Color disconnects as usual, but previously the panel would automatically reconnect when I returned to my assigned application. Now it doesn't reconnect automatically and I have to reboot the program to reestablish a connection.

I've reverted back to 18.3.0.244 where all is well, but it would be great if this could be addressed in the next EuControl update.

That said, upon learning Avid don't intend on supporting the product after 2020, perhaps now is a good time to just sell the device. I've really enjoyed my Artist Color over the years. I hope Avid have plans for a successor.

I've upgraded to 19.5.0.514 on Windows 10 and that is not a nice experience either :-/

The display on the Artist Color does not update propperly.

I suspect that the development on EuControl is very focused on audio and protools now...

I don't have it, and cant seem to find it online.

as a proud owner of Artist Color I'm really disappointed that it is no longer produced and supported. It is great control surface!

I know that SDK for Artist was not available as open-source, but now when there is no further plans for Artist Color couldn't you please get it available? As a hobby-programmer I'd like to develop some small utility app and to use Artist Color as a controller for my other applications. I think it is a pity to throw away this great panel...

I hope there is some way to get the SDK available for programmers...

I'm not very familiar with programming, but to the best of my knowledge, it is simply a device using the EuCon protocol. So as long as you develop an app that can work with EuCon, you should be able to use it.
