    Avid Artist | DNxIV

Seems that Avid has gone to AJA for the manufacture of their new IO box, which is a re-badge of their Io 4K Plus, but with a front panel mic input.

Given that the price of the AJA product is $2495, are we expecting the DNxIV to be priced around three thousand dollars?

Anyone know if there's any other differences/advantages with the Avid box over the AJA Io?

    Re: Avid Artist | DNxIV

german news site reports ~3000$ for the avid version.

hopefully we´ll get  a lot more than a mic input for the 500$,

besides, the dnxio page seems updated: https://www.avid.com/de/products/avid-artist-io

So in the comparison I see HDMI 2.0a vs. HDMI 2.0b.  DNxIO and DNxIQ have HDMI 2.0aDNxIV has HDMI 2.0b.  My limited understanding ithe the HDMI 2.0b is dual link and a bigger connector with 29 pins.  I have read that no devices support HDMI 2.0b at this time, perhaps this is a dated wikipedia?  How does one take the output of HDMI 2.0b and get it to a more normal HDMI 2.0a device.  Will this output be backwards compatible?

    Re: Avid Artist | DNxIV

the connector is the same, booth have 19pins.  the 2.0b has a "dynamic synchronize" of audio and video streams, this should prevent choppy playback.

    from https://www.cnet.com/how-to/what-is-hdmi-2-0b/

"Changing 2.0a to 2.0b is much more likely, as it's a minor change. As mentioned though, it's not a change you need to worry about right now."

Now that we have 3 avid branded I/O Boxes, i hope they still working and support the other (cheaper) Open I/O devices in future.
