Telegram!:With your 90 degree-off footage, are you aware you can or have you tried Transcoding the (presumably MP4) with the FrameFlex coorection baked-in?
That might work in some circumstances, but unfortunately the facility's workflow is to convert everything to DNxHR LB at native frame rate and frame size and then conform for online/grade.
Telegram!:Just curious, how many individual camera sources are used in your GroupClips?
Varies from 3-5 on this episode.
Telegram!:Rotate at any angle is not propigating into a Group Clip used in a Sequence. A simple Zoom-In did work
You're right, same for me on 2018.12.10 ... I was only concerned with clips that were on their side so didn't test a straightforward resize. That would explain why the on their side clips are oddly cropped as well ... the resize info has carried through, but not the rotate.
Is this also the case with MC 2020.6?

SaulB:unfortunately
Agreed.
Multicam/Group Clips with save-able-to-bin, per-camera angle, per-Timeline clip, "3D warp-style" effects. That's the ticket.

Was this ever solved? We're also using DNxHR LB at both 23.98 and 48 FPS.
I'm working with groups that I apply Frame Flex to before AND after grouping since it falls off in the actual grouping process for no good reason.
I jsut spent my morning with an editor trying to figure out why the group was showing up vertical (Correct) in his source window, but when he cut clips onto his timeline they reverted to the stretched out version w/o Frame Flex.
We eventaully discovered he was using "V" (Splice In) and those clips always came in stretched, when I used "B" (Overwrite) the clips came in perfectly vertical with Frame Flex. Why? No one knows.
I was hoping to find a solution so we don't have to fight these bugs all season.
Telegram!: I think our engineers are always steps ahead in terms of long-range planning, but perhaps now and here would be a good time and place to hear a little from them about their overall vision for future releases, re: Multi-cam, FrameFlex, Crop/Zooms, Pan & Zooms, 3D Warps, Sub-frame Audio slipping & Grouping from Tineline. I don’t use any other NLE, but my question is this: is there a product that allows mixed frame-size, mixed frame rate, Pan/Zoom, Crop/Repositioning of Multicam?

I don't think Avid are steps ahead at all - they still have an ingest mindset with distinctions between models of 'linked' and 'ingested' clips - hell they still have a nested FX stack and 'special' clips with an alpha channel as track mattes. As MC is an editing program, it should support the features that editors want - all of them! That's what a lot of other NLE's are trying to do - and succeeding too.
I edit on Avid, FCP also Premiere - but my favorite editing app by far is GV Edius. It's superior for format support, interoperability, reliability and simple ease of use. It's joy to edit with it because it has such a clean and logical workflow. It's easy to manage media, native or not, and it has a great toolset/functionality, with all the broadcast industry features from proxy to HDR - it even has an API now for automation, rendering servers - the lot.
SO OF COURSE you can multicam mixed frame rates and rasters with individual pan/zoom, crop, reposition. In Edius a group is just a sequence - and multicam is just a mode that gives you extra features you might need with multicam material such as audio follow video, or 16 cam preview etc.. Edius has been like this for over 15 years where it has been possible to re-sync, add FX's, scale, pan, tweak, whatever you like in a multicam sequence - all on the fly.

Was this problem solved? I'm on 2020.8, editing 4k grouped material and I can't edit frameflex in the timeline.
Any hint?
I would to know the same. I have the exact same problem as everybody else in this group. I cant relink a grouped sequence or change the frameflex unless I commit multicam edits.
Just bit me too - was the original post back in 2017? My grouped clip IS UHD so why no Frameflex to let me punch in now and again?
I selected 'edit group' from the drop down menu and was able to apply a fixed Frameflex adkust to the entire cam. Helped a bit...
Ultimate 2022.12.1, Blackmagic Intensity Pro, WIN 11 on 7000Mbps M.2 SSD, Nvidia Quadro P4000, Asus Pro Art Z690 i9 12900k 5.0 GHz, 8TB M.2 SSD - its nippy!

If you are offline editing, sketching out your sequence using a Group Clip that you want to "punch in" on, then what you can do is Duplicate the clip to a higher track and match frame > Replace edit from the camera source (sans Group clip); then you ought to be able to do your punch-in on the duplicated timeline clip with or without a keyframed move. It's not ideal but would be a way to proceed creatively applying different franeflex crop/zooms to the same clip when it is used multiple times in a sequence. It's a tough pill to swallow, which is why you see so many posts here on it.
If You're at picture lock You can 'commit multicam edit' and do Your frameflex things. Awfully orrendous tool by the way.

Is there a work around this? I have 2 cameras aspec ratio 2.39.1 and when I sync the cmeras I lose the letter box adjusment previousl applied via frameFlex... I can see it still remain in each Cam if I hit edit source but when both cameras are in sync the letterbox /aspect ratio adjustment previously applied disapepr and I get the image distorted ... anyone know how to fix this?
I had and still have the same issue. I spoke to tech support few months back and they were aware of the bug. But it hasn't been fixed in the current update. I did have to downgrade to older versions to elminate the bug.
It is not a bug but a limitation (by design?). Some (might be all) Source setting based FX do not activate while in group clip mode.
