Thank You very much, Avid!
Freddy: So I would suggest using two monitors with same resolution for now. ..it might be something we will support in the future.

i know, it's been only half a year, but...is there another answer now, giving a little hope?
the time you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted time...
.
sorry about the glitch....
please can someone delete the duplicates...:-)
in another thread about mc 8.9,
a comment from marianna makes me wonder if there is a change in the behavior with two monitors of different resolution...
can we please have a comment on that?
Marianna:
Business as usual for Avid I see - ignore the user base and carry on regardless.

Can we go back to the way audio nodes used to be selected? Please? ie if you have audio nodes at the same time on selected tracks; then selecting 1 audio node selects them all at that time. Having to shift select nodes or add an in and out is time consuming and counter productive. At least make it an option.

I checked with Dave and this is the case as stated above with 8.9. There is work being done to get what is needed but it isnt completed yet. I will post as we get closer but I wouldnt thik it will be Q3

Marianna - was not referring to you (not sure how I could have been?). You have always served the customer base and I've always held you in high regard.
I was referring to a post by "Freddy" from Avid back in Dec 2016 that clearly states that users should just buy two monitors of the same resolution because this change is by design (I'm not quite sure what to do if I want to run three monitors?). I wouldn't even know if the problem's been solved. He's failed to pop back to the forum to update us since on this issue or whether he now considers it a problem. Apparently one post was all he had time for. He doesn't even bother to respond to Rodpaul's follow up post about it being an unsatisfactory answer.
Avid is my favorite NLE but I don't use it any more - just hasn't kept up with the competition. I don't want to get this thread off track so I'll leave it there.
MOndo....
Pheew for a minute there :) LOL
The software to make 2 different size monitors work with the windows resizing is still in development ( already stated that).
I agree that it took a while to get high res monitor support on PC's (we logged that bug several years ago)! This was low priority in the minds of Product management. They are on it now based on all the chatter.
Let me see what I can find out from them on it.

maybe worthy to wake this threat up again...
where are we standing?
Yes, wake it up indeed. We need to keep the pressure on. I've been following this and waiting to update. Sure is fun to pay a monthly subscription for software I can't update because of this silly change. The explanation of losing bins is just annoying. We've managed for many years Avid. Don't need your 'help' now. Just get it working.
