Re: "No media drives available" when attempting import

I found the Problem under MAC OS ...

It is the external USB Drive (Any Timemachine or extrenal USB)

I found a workarround - Stark Avid without the extrenal Drive and then connect it afterwards

My Mediadrive are Thunderbolt - No Porblem there.

I found out, that the newer Avids 2018.xxx do not have that problem anymore.

But I experienced Userproblems with the new Versions ;-)

    Always something !!

Re: "No media drives available" when attempting import

I have the exact same problem on a newtwork drive. I can import with the  source browser  but  I can't render, can't create title, can't import via drag & drop and so on. It can save the project which is on the drive and I can create new bins without problems.

I'm on 2018.4, so the bug is probably still alive and kicking 2018.xxx, we've been uninstalling/reinstalling avid over and over again, and every time after 2 or 3 days, Avid can't seem to write on it (excpect for the source browser weirdly enough).

    • I would love to hear an update on this subject, because we’ve been experiencing this specific problem for many many moons now... started some where around 8.9 we think on multiple OSX versions, all documented in these threads.

    Hi Marianna-

I think you might have replied to me as well, though I can't find the post.

I'm still having this problem as well, on two systems, and would love it if there were a resolution!

Re: "No media drives available" when attempting import

Having this problem in MC 2020.8.0.55115.0 on Catalina 10.15.6 on iMacPro with OWC 4 thunderbolt drive with softraid 5, connected directly via thunderbolt. Strangely I have the media on the drive and it seems to be working finebut it does not show up in the media manager as a drive that I can use.
