Avid 8 Source Browser Crashes, along with Media Cache Setting

When I attempt to link to media via the Source Browser, Avid freezes and then crashes out. I have tried to change the Cache size in the Media Cache setting, but this also does not open and just crashes Avid. Are there any suggestions on fixing this?

Trash the Sourcebrowsercache (on a Mac at Users>Shared>AvidMedaiComposer). Possibly also trash AvidImageCache.
