    **HELP Digital Cut Device Output

    Hello Peeps-

I am trying to output from Media Composer 7.0.4.4 MacPro OS 10.8.5 to the HDCam HDW-1800. The output out of the Mac is Kona 3.

In the Digital Cut window, Avid does recognize the deck for control but the device output only shows as IEEE 1394 DVCPro. The DVCPro isn't even on or connected.

I am at a loss as to figure out how to get the Output device to change to the correct deck. I've updated drivers, software, changed user settings, projects, checked all connections from the workstation to the deck and router.

I am able to get FCP7 to output to the HDCam deck just fine.

Thanks in advance for any help or ideas provided.

    Fred

The Special > Device menu isn't relevant in this situation...you should just be able to output.

Can you verify that the deck is getting the Avid signal via HD-SDI when you put the deck into E/E and play something on MC?

Kevin-  Thank you for your response.  It turns out (and I have never used this before) to be that the button "HW/SW Switch" was disabled.  Once I enabled this button.  The Digital Cut tool was able to see the HDCam deck.

    Go figure!
