    should I be concerned.....

if i have ongoing projects in My Avid 7.0.2 that Im looking to upgrade to latest version.

Is there ANY possibility that the new version wont open the old projects and link to the media. I just dont need the hassle if it becomes a problem and will wait?

    Re: should I be concerned.....

Never say never, but it hasnt been a problem for me. I run two MC 8.4.2 and one MC 7.0.5 and regularly swap projects from one system to another and back again.

I think the advice with upgrading whole version numbers is to trash your user settings from the old version and re-make them for the new, I'm not sure why.

There are those who will say never upgrade in the middle of a project if you dont have to, and I'm sure that's good advice. I have never upgraded while working on a critical job. I usually upgrade my home based system first, which I kind of use to test the upgrade before applying it in the studio where it matters.
