I had a hard drive failure last week and cannot get my MC 6.5 software to accept activation on my new computer. I have entered info on line including my system ID and required activation codes to no avail. The process asks me to also enter my unit ID which I do not have or remembering ever using. Maybe avid is giving me the "101 activation failed" message every time I try it due to my not being able to deactivate my old computers activation. I cannot do that since I have no old system to deactivate since the hard drive failure. Seems someone might tell me the process for reconnecting the new computer to my old 6.5 software. Could not find anything on the avid web site which seem to deal with this problem. Thanks for any suggestions you might have.

Call AVID support. Licensing issues are a free support call. I don't have the number right off, but the phone menu is not hard.
Thanks. Got the number and they did something at avid which cleared my system and allowed me to get back on line. Was a bit of a wait for someone to call me back however.
