Hi every one !
sorry if the question was already posted !
But I have a probleme with relinking my media on Media Composer 7.0.3
I'm on Mavericks 10.9.2, on a MBP retina.
Here is the workflow, we are filming with 5 cameras and recording directly in DnxHD 185 X on SSD.
After filming, I put all the media on a hard drive, create an avid project, import my rushes with "media tool" and transcode all the rushes in DnxHD 36 for editing
I put this media in DnxHD 36 on a other hard drive. So I have 2 hard drives, one with rushes in 185X, the other with the rushes in 36.
Then, the project is edited in dnx 36. Once it is finished, I get the project. I copy it on the hard drive with the rushes in 185 X.
I start Media composer (with only the hard drive with the media in 185 X) but it doesn't relink itself. So I right-clik on a rush --> relink --> choose the parameteres. But it only works with 2 of my rushes. The others stay in Dnx 36
I try different parameters but it changes nothing.
It's very weird because the relink works with 2 rushes but not the other. And I did the same settings...
Someone already got this problem ??
Thanks for you help !
See ya
If you open media tool on the media 185x drive connected does media tool show all the clips as dnx185x ? if not you may need to trash and rebuild media databases (also make sure ownership is off on the drive)
If the dnx185x master clips all show in media tool I'd drag one of them that won't relink into a new bin and copy a dnx36 master clip in ther as well and compare all the settings to be sure they match.
Check frame rate, duration start and end timecodes etc. (do they have a tape ID?) or a source file name and path?

Hello Pat and thanks for taking time to see what's going wrong with my media !!
When I use Media Tool, they don't show me all the clips (only a few but not the one which successs on relink)
But at start of the project, I created a project "transcodage" with all the rushes, with BINS which contain all the data in Dnx 185 X, when I "open BIN" from my editing project (which is different from my "transcodage" project)
All the media in Dnx 185 are online
Here a screenshot of a BIN with the rush in Dnx 36 and the same in Dnx 185 X
As you can see all the data are the same
Here is a screen of the structure of the folder MXF --> 1 on the finder
And here is a screenshot of my settings when I try to relink
And, I forgot to mention it before, with the rushes which fail to relink, the sound relink well but not the video
To sum up, there is only 2 rushes which relink as it should (video + audio), all the other relink only audio.
When I "reveal file" on the one which fails, it shows me the 2 files of sound on the finder
I think its a bug of avid
The media tool MUST show the DNX185x clips for them to come online. If a clip doesn't have media showing in the media tool it can't be played by Avid (unless it's an AMA linked clips which these aren't)
You can't use reveal file to show a file that is offline. It will only show the online files.
HAve you tried trashing and rebuilding media databases?
No, in deed, when I use the media tool, there is not all the media (only 5 on 30 media)
I try trashing and rebuiding media databases but it changes nothing.
It is weird because when I created the project "transcodage", the media tool showed all the media. And then I did transcode all rushes in Dnx 36.
But when i make an "OPEN BIN" (from the editing project) with the BIN which contains all media in Dnx 185, I can read all the media, there are online, even if there does not appears on the media tool.
Reveal file works because only the video part is offline, the audio part in online
For example, for one rush, I got 3 MXF
- CAMERA_1_V.MXF
- CAMERA_1_A1.MXF
- CAMERA_1_A2.MXF
When I reveal file, I got the 2 audio files marked in blue (in the finder) but not the CAMERA_1_V.MXF
Sorry for my english ! (i'm french, that's why its hard for me to describe properly)
THanks again for your help !
