Hi there,
I can't update my nvidia driver to 320.78 on my Dell M4700..
I install MC using the new full install of MC 7.0.3 but if i try to use the driver card installer provided with Avid.. it says i dont have a compatible card.. !?..
Regards.
Spec.: Dell M4700, i7-3840QM, 2.80GHz
16GB RAM
Quadro K2000M
Anyone!?.. i'm the only one with this problem?
According to Avid's spec sheet, there are no specific approved laptop drivers; the recommended drivers are for desktops only.
What I've been doing is installing the recommended driver from the manufacturer (my case, HP) and then modifying the QualifiedGPUBoards by adding a line with the GPU and driver I have. I personally haven't had any issues in the last couple of years doing this.
hummm, i have just installed the nvida geforce 340.52 driver and new imports into mc 8.1 crash, so i was about to ask ubout it, so mabey we can find out together. Oh when i used that driver i had no problem but that was a while ago

Your best bet is to use the driver on the dell support site - I have not had any issues with Avid using the dell certified driver.
FWIW, on my M4700/K2000M I am using the (almost) latest "ISV certified" drivers from nVidia directly (not DELL);
Merrily running Symphony (MC) 6.5 currently with driver 340.66 without issues (QualifiedGpuBoards file patched to force GPU support)
ok sorry i jumped in this, My problem was not the driver, it was the file format. Errrwooops !
