I cannot find a version of MDV that works on my Windows 7 computer running Symphony 6.5.   I've used MDV for years on my MC4/XP system--but that version will not run on the new system.   If anyone has a version that runs on Win 7 with Symphony, could you kindly send me a link?

Both of the two latest versions run on W7 64-bit for me.  I haven't tried any of the earlier versions.

Thanks Tomas, that's pretty much what I would expect, too.  For what it's worth I would expect that to apply to all versions.

What MDV is doing in resource terms is very simple.  It makes use of fundamental Windows file components - open, read, copy and delete.  Microsoft haven't changed those since the inception of Windows NT.  I can't see how those or the simple display handling MDV uses could cause a crash.

Its use of memory has always been clean, and that's the only other thing that I can think of that could be a problem.  The only likely cause would be a corrupted download, as I see it.

Once again worth noting what a shame it is that this functionality is still missing from MC after all these years.

And such as simple application like MDV can so enhance the media managament functionality.

The version I prefer is 0.3. It finds projects containing foreign characters, what other versions doesn't do.

+1 Vote for a similar tool by Avid.
