I am trying to back ground consolidate a hour long clip and right at the end its fails. in the background queue i get this error
Exception: In playloop - no progress aborting transcode 100 107892 107892
Any Ideas?
if i do a regular NON background consolidate it works just fine no error.
the Machine i'm trying this on has
2 x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
16 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC
OS X Lion 10.7.5

I get this when trying to transcode AMA linked RED clips in the background
"Exception: In playloop - no progress aborting transcode 1 209 13755"
If anyone else has this error will they please chime in so that the moderators might see it as a "legitimate" bug and pass it on to Avid - thanks very much!

Yes I have this too, 7.0.3 mac pro running 10.8.3. I've given up on background encoding as it's never worked for me.
I'm still seeing this error today with Sony F55 Footage MC 2018.12.1 I'm in the process of transcoding to DNX36 from 4096_2160 Sony F55 Rec2020 Slog 3 media with baking in a LUT. I am currently trying to redo one of the clips that error while transcoding in the background by transcoding it in the foreground. It's a long 52 minute clip and the progress bar timed out it's progress at its' estimated duration of approx 33 minutes then it reset adding a new progress bar with a 17 minute duration. It's not like it just re estimated the process duration it started counting elapsed from zero as if restarting on a new process this was in the foreground transcode. The background transcode cranks hard on the CPU then slows way down at the end. The foreground transcode when it reset itself also slowed way down on CPU usage when it reset. It's like closing the file becomes a very slow task using little CPU and something in the background transcode times out. The background transcode then moves on to the next clip and jumps quickly to heavy CPU usage until it gets near the end then slows way down. Some clips have background transcode successfully but now most are erroring at the end. Given when this thread was started seems like Avid hasn't duplicated the issue or hasn't addressed it. With Panasonic Varicam 35 AVC-Intra 4K footage I haven't seen this issue.
