Hi,
I hope someone can help me please. Whenever I import media that was shot at XDCAM 50 Mbits, such as footage shot on a Toshiba Ice Cube camera (IK-HR1CS), I set my import options to 20:1 in Avid, but the file comes in at XDCAM 50 Mbit resolution instead. I believe this happens also with an XDCAM disk if I straight import the files off the disk. Then I have to transcode the footage 20:1 to get it to the desired resolution. Is there a way to import it straight to 20:1 resolution?

Don't import them: use AMA to link to the files/disc and then transcode.....

I would do that normally, but these files cannot be AMA'd correctly. I've called Avid tech support in the past and the files don't have enough metadata so they have issues when AMA'd. If there's a way to import them at a different resolution than XDCAM 50 Mbit that would help a lot.
New Sony XDCam AMA plugins out today. 1 for MC7 and 1 for MC 6 and 6.5 See this thead This MAY help you
