importing footage in that was 'missing'

I just received a drive from an editor in another city, who was adding footage to my project from a drive I sent him.  He put all the footage in a folder and marked it "missing footage" and I see the missing avb. bins.  How do I

    1. add the bins to my project

    2. get the actual footage to connect to those bins?

    Thanks

you have to add the MXF files to your media drive / or let MC access the MXF files on your external drive. they need to be in the correct folder (Avid MediaFiles\ MXF\1 -at least for win systems, you can choose a different number instead of "1").

restart MC, use "Open bin", select your "Missing footage" bin. maybe you need to relink the clips.

    OR:

restart MC, use the "Media tool", selecte the drive, selecte the project, use "Master clips" only -> MC will find your "missing footage" master clips, you take them and add (drag) them to your project.

You can just drag the bin into your project folder and it will appear in the project window.

With media, as mentioned, the MXF files need to be in a proper Avid MediaFiles folder at the root of the drive.  You can just drag the new files (you may be able to sort by date) to your current numbered folder or create a new one for the new media.
