I have a problem, my or Avids?, with P2 files and DMF.

The process works well for video files, but no audio file is copy or transcoded. I got this messages: "AMA Link operation failed (in "link AMA" phase)."

I also got problems wih File/AMa link. I got error. "Unable to linki to any clips at D:\P2".

What does I wrong?

This is happening, a lot, to me, as well. DMF seems to be a bit buggy on this first release.

After several hours of transcoding the video, I got this message:

"Cannot Import composition: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Avid Dynamic Media Folders\tmp\4ee0b139-9d93-480d-ab97-8f4885bbaa45\000000-374938a0376205ef-008045822d15-7633.aaf : FileCompositionToken cannot be converted to in-memory representation (in "transcode in-progress" phase)."

Someone who knows what it is?

Did You install the latest P2 AMA plugin or You're still running off the MC 6.5's plugin? QT and nVidia versions?

I have installed P2 v.3 now and I am able to link and transcode. But I have not been able to start DMF yet. I will try to comfirm is v3 works.

Nvida: Included wihith MC7.
QT: 7.7.1

I think one clue for makeing AMA-link to work is not using autodetect AMA. Set to P2-folder.

I am now able to link and transcode by manual AMA-link. I got error for audio, "AMA Link operation failed (in "link AMA" phase). But audio is on the transcoded clips. Maybe they are pointed to the original audio files.

Mjolnarn: Thankt You for Your offer. Maybe I got time tomorror to make a Zipfile and upload it.

My conclusion now is this.

1. If You use P2 folder with DMF, the import will not start.

2. If You try to set a specific profile for manual import, It will not work.

My work around just now this.

Do a manual import and move the clips to the apropiate bin.

At least, We can still work with P2 media.

Avid Engineering is tracking bug 180199 for the issue with DMF not working if the watch folder is set directly on the P2 folder within the card reader slot directory structure.

Do You know if there is a bug with autodiscver AMA, P2 and audio. Setting profile to autodiscover make DFM miss the audio part.
