I will sorely miss Larry. A voice of reason on these forums, knowledgable, and helpful to so many people.

How terribly sad. My condolonces to his family.
Such a helpful kindehearted chap who gladly offered help, advice and support to so many of us here over the years. Only a couple of days ago he offered to email me some missing 'scope files I was having an issue with. Me - a complete stranger - what a lovely guy.
RIP
Symphony 2018.12.10, Blackmagic Intensity Pro 11.1 (unsatisfactory in full res UHD though for client monitor), WIN 10 on 2500Mbps M.2 SSD, Nvidia Quadro K4200, Asus X99-A Mobo, i7 5820K 4.0 GHz Hex core mildly overclocked CPU, 32Gb 2800 Mhz RAM, WD Black 8Tb RAID10 array @ 450Mbs
Very weird to hear this.
As long as I work with Avid and was looking for solutions he 'popped up'...
I had always the idea that he was a year of 40, so enthousiastic to help people (and me)
The internet won't forget you

Thanks Avid Community Forums for placing this well deserved In Memoriam header in the Forums!!!
Like many others posting here today I've had my skin saved on more than the odd occasion by finding one of the many informative posts left here by Larry Rubin. I don't think I'm not over stating too much when I say that this community and in particular those most giving of their time and knowledge, like Larry, have had a profound effect on helping me further my knowledge and my career. If it wasn't for this community and the questions and answers we all share every day I'm not sure I would have had quite the success I have. My thoughts go out to those who knew Larry most but perhaps the best way we, the members of this forum, can keep Larry's memory alive is simply to continue to give of our time, knowledge and experience as he so generously did.

I'm deeply saddened by this news. He will be greatly missed.

Super helpful and gracious guy. We had many phone conversations, and he never uttered an unkind word. That's some legacy.
He will be missed on many levels...gosh.
Using MC 22.12. Win 22H2 Avid FX6.4, Vegas Pro 20/ DVD Architect 6pro, DVDit6.4proHD, CCE Basic, TmpGe Express4, TmpGe Authoring Works 4, DVDLab-Studio. Sony EX-1R, Canon XH-A1, GL2, GL1, Canon EOS 60D
...after the initial shock I am now able to react and my thoughts are with Larry's relatives, especially with his mother, who's already lost her husband not long ago, and now survives to her son, a cruelty of life.
