I get the above error when attempting to import a .mov file into my Avid. I'm working on Media composer 6.5.0 and a Quick Tiime pro player 7 version 7.7.1.
I've tried all suggestions on the Avid site for this problem, including updating Quick Time and making sure it supports my editor, creating a new bin, deleting MCstate, SiteSettings, and Site Attributes form Avid Media Composer Settings folder (actually I wasn't able to delete these, so I just moved them to the trash); and create a new project and import there.
None of the above worked. I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

Hey,
First, I always remind people to update to the latest version of MC/Symphony, which is 6.5.2.1. Next, try importing to a different drive. The one you're attempting to import to might be full, and believe it or not, that's the error that MC.SYM gives. Has nothing to do with any mixed resolution issues. Let me know if this helps.

Also, have you tried AMA-linking to the file? It uses a different technique to ingest the material; that might do the trick, for you.As another option, I assume you have Sorenson Squeeze? Import the offending QT file into Squeeze and export it in the format / codec option you're using in Avid, at the moment.Hopw this helps.
Moving it to a different drive did the trick! Thank you so much - I would never have found it searching the site. Its a little baffling why that error would come up in the first place. You are a lifesaver!!
I have tried moving this to a different drive and it worked on my computer hard drive (which I won't use for video storage!) and two Rugged Lacie 500 GB drives, as well as my 2GB G-Raid Drive. However, I would like to import to a 4TB GDrive - I have two and neither works. I get the same error message (Exception: Cannot quick import a mixed resolution quick time movie). Did they need to be formatted differently? Why isn't this working? I need to manage my work on these larger drives if possible.
Thanks in advance - you have been really helpful.
If you're still having issues, AMA link to, and then Transcode the file to the drive you want it on. That should work.
