    Re: Consolidate/Transcode OUTSIDE of Avid...

This tool might be what you are looking for if your need is transcode only:

It does not do Consolidate (but if he saw enought need / market he might go there).

Does not help you yet but MC7 when it arrives will have Dynamic Folders for AMA linking (and more), manages AMA media with Avid databases, allows background transcode, consolidate and copying.

Haha Andrew, hence my rejoicing above!  Also supposedly the ability to transcode JUST the AMA media in a sequence which was another FR I was looking out for.  Scott Simmons has done quite a nice write up of the main features at pro video coalition

Ok I will remind myself not to take client phone calls after starting to answer a post. Big Smile

Here are a few more gems for me. The ability to apply custom LUT's (possibly even in the source bin)... Bulk modify clips in a bin or timeline.... Manage, preserve, create and output Colour meta data... Auto-conversion to proper colour space via metadata ... Colour info displayed in bin columns

Yep, custom LUTS will be a big timesaver for those productions that don't want to punt everything out to Resolve.  It will be great to handle it all within Avid.  Would also be cool if CDLs could be applied as currently i think the metadata is just passed through and not acted upon?

The only thing I have seen is (Avid's wording) "Support for 1D & 3D LUTs and CDLs"
