I do a lot of turning on/off certain video tracks when editing. Is there a shortcut to turn off certain video tracks, or can I make a keyboard shortcut to turn on/off these buttons?
Yes, your keyboard is likely already mapped to turn on and off certain video and audio tracks.
by Default the numbers at the top of the keyboard is where they are mapped
7: V2
8: V1
9: A1
0: A2
-: A3
=: A4
using the command pallete and the keyboard settings you can remap all of these to your heart's desire.
Happy Editing!
Also, CMD + A (CTRL on PC) selects all tracks and CMD + SHIFT + A deselects all tracks.

And if you LASSO over the track selectors, you reverse the track selections.

Go into your timeline settings and under the "edit" tab, disable "auto monitoring".
AHH GENIUS!.. thank you! xx
You're quite welcome. Happy editing!
For groups of tracks, holding down the shift key while "dragging" the mouse over the tracks toggles the tracks to select or deselect.

Hello, I am new to 8.3 I was currently on v7 and now I see a On/Off button for the video tracks any chance you know the shortcut to execute this fuction?
Thank you.
Realize that the power off (mute) button you are indicating is not the same as the rest of this post. That actually mutes the track, so in addition to deselecting it you don't see any of the media that lives on that track.
But no, there is no shortcut to accessing that button.

Yes I do understand that is diferent but I can't seem to find any answers online. I am glad to see it but a shortcut for it or even a way to map it out would be great. Unlike the Audio Mute (on/off) there is a short cut for it (Alt+Assign Numeric Number i.e Alt+1, Alt+2, etc) Thats why I was wondering if there was a shortcut for the Video Mute tracks...
