Exporting my timeline has become a frustrating challenge as I get error messages that quit the rendering process - a major time-killer when you are outputting a 15-minute short film that takes an hour or more per try. My output settings are 1280 x 720 / best, using H.264. I did mange to output one (Thank God) using the DVCPRO 50 setting instead of H.264 but I'm not sure that the settings have anything to do with the problem.
First the export stops and I get this error: Exception::stdexception what "Segmentation fault" in thread "CQTExportWorkingThreadBody", at address
Then this one: Exception::stdexception what "Segmentation fault" in thread "Adopted Thread", at address
Then when I retry the export I get this failure which requires a restart to deal with or exporting won't stand a chance:Excption: Movie export and data source FAILED!, errcode:0
I wondered if this was an issue with my array, so I consolidated everthing to one external drive but that failed as well.
Help! (Again)

Have you made sure the permissions on your Mac drive are read/write?
1. Click on the system (Macintosh HD in most cases) drive to highlight2. From the File menu select Get Info (cmd+I)3. Click the lock icon in the bottom right to make changes4. Click on the “Read only” text in the Privilege column next to Everyone and set the privilege to “Read & Write”
Also you should be on 6.0.3 as there were a few fixes relating to export/output. Another user with the same issues on twitter upgraded to 6.0.3 and issues went away.
You should obtain the 6.0.3 software from the avid.com Download Center. In order to access the Download Center you will need a Master Account first which you can create at https://www.avid.com/US/account/orientation Once you have created your Login details you will need to request a Download Center on the next page. Under Avid Linked Accounts, select "request an account". You can then access the Download Center at http://esd.avid.com/ProductList.aspx

Hi Marianna,
Thanks for your quick reply . . . I updated to 6.03 on your suggestion so it is now running (I've updated my profile to reflact that). All permissions were set to read / write from day one. Same problem, with some different language, but basically Segmentation Fault in thread once again in both 6.01 and 6.03
Also, I just tried changing my export settings to full 1920 x 1280 to see what happens and I get the old beachball again requiring me to Force Quit. I restarted and am attempting a new render at 1920.
What do you have attached to the Mac - any storage?

Yes, an 8-bay eSata tower (2 striped partitions) and two 4-bay towers (striped equally), but the same problem is happening with the drives turned off. See this post: http://community.avid.com/forums/p/111861/648776.aspx#648776
I'm pretty sure these failures and freezes issues are interrelated.
We're getting a very similar problem. Did you ever resolve this?
We're on MC6.03/OSX 10.7.4/ Unity MN Client 5.5.1, and MC6.01/OSX 10.7.2/ Unity MN client 5.5.1.
On export from Bin-level to H264 1280x720 from a 1080/23.98 project, we get a similar pattern of failure:
1. The first is a general, " Exception: std::exception, what: "Segmentation fault" in thread "Adopted Thread", at address 0x0"
2. On 2nd attempt, pops " errcode: Exception: Movie export from procedures FAILED!, errcod: 4294967247"
Sometimes requires restart of system, sometimes just application to continue.
Export to local or Unity workspace fails with equal frequency.
Thanks!
any resolution on this...it is becoming quite a problem for me....
