Ok, this is crazy, but I think I'm getting there.

Im trying to create a DVD using AvidDVD on a WindowsXP, virtually on my MacPro, via VirtualBox

I was wondering if I could just use the QT-REFERENCE files straight into AvidDVD.

The DVD authoring is working fine on an MPEG source, but you still need to copy it to a 'Windows' folder in order to work.

This time I want to use the QT-REFERENCE files straight into AvidDVD and see. Also to cut down encoding time with Squeeze.

It's almost working..I am able to play QTref files individually but manually pointing them to the 'BLACKs..' media file that QTplayer requires.

I just want to know where the default directory Avid_MediaFiles is located on a Windows native machine. It's the folder where the 'BLACKs..' media files are located. (see screenshot).

Here's the exact location in the Mac drive:

No XP systems here.  However, if you do a search on "mediafiles" you should find it.  On win 7 it is here:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Avid Media Composer\Avid_MediaFiles

If you don't use fillers in your timeline, you won't have this problem. Use a black title instead.

Fillers could be the reason. I mixed down 5 seconds of black to fill the tail of the video. This was a suggestion when I was having problem with freezing end frames on my DVD project.

I'm still doing it via MPEG route today...

Any WindowsXP users today?
