I FIXED IT, the problem is when you have a clone hard drive in the same computer. Apple check for me, thay removed the buck up hard drive and now is working perfect.

    Hi Steve,

Could you elabroate a little more? What do you mean by "clone[d] hard drive in the same computer"?Are you refering to two internal hard disks? I'm wondering if your issue is rather isolated and this will still be an issue for everyone else.

All 12 editors at my company have their own computer with 1 hard drive each, connecting to a Terrablock and most of them have this issue.

The only similarity is that we created a master computer and cloned it 11 times, then let the editors customize it, but I don't see how that could cause this issue.

Re: Export Issue: Segmentation Fault in Adopted Thread

Hey Steve - unfortunately that fix is not relevant on my system and the problem still persists, as I'm sure it is on other systems with typical configurations.

Clearing Bin memory saved and closed all bins. Once I reopened my bin and exported, I receiving another error and the Avid crashed immediatly after. Still no luck.

If you export SAS, does that work?

    1. MC6.5 OSX 10.7.4

    2. 1080p @ 23.98 typically

    3. Varies but usually transcoded ProRes footage or AMA linked ProRes (really this caries but the problem is consistant no matter what the media)

    4. Exporting an H264 quicktime typically 960x540, 44.1khc AAC sound, fast encode at medium setting, native frame rate, no filters (but the problem persists on various other settings also)

Re: Export Issue: Segmentation Fault in Adopted Thread

    Hi Kevin,

I exported an H264 and got the error, then exported SAS and it worked.

I then went back and exported an H264 again and the Avid froze for a minute or two (Apple Option Escape showed it wasn't responding) but I let it ride it out. It then exported the H264.

So it does look like it's something with the export setting, I'm not sure what would be causing the problem. But the good news is exporting a SAS and then H264 might save a little more time then quiting and re-opening. Still annoying though, especially with long sequences.

Does it export if you do a video and audio mixdown and pop them in a new timeline?

Re: Export Issue: Segmentation Fault in Adopted Thread

It might be worth noting that I can successfully export for a few times, then I get teh segmentation error typically after the 3rd or 4th esport, and it doesnt seem to matter whether a mixdown or SAS or H26 or whatever.

Shoot...I was hoping it was an h.264 issue.

FWIW, I always export SAS and then let Squeeze or QT Pro make the h.264 in the background.  Frees up the editing system to keep editing.

I never have export issues, but another editor here was having issues with h.264 Segmentation Faults as well.  He's been fine since we switched his workflow.  Not saying it SHOULDN'T work, but I have always defaulted to letting Avid edit and using other software to encode other files.

Can you do a QT Reference and does that work?  That would be faster than SAS for long-form, then use Squeeze?

Another note, exporting as a SAS and then exporting a H264 is not working anymore. It only worked that one time.
