10 bit too.
At least at the specs and at the check boxes.
However I can't see any difference to the monitor when outputting 10bit instead of 8.
Which could be normal.

I have been using SD PAL 16:9 and 1920 50i. Footage - DNXhd and DV, none AMA'd. The Intensity pro I have used for some time, mainly at the same frame rates.
My screen - I have a couple, first is an LG 27" TV, second is a BenQ computer screen. It does the same without the screen attached so i am sure that is not the problem.
We have the same problem on desktops and laptops, and it was worse with 9.1 drivers. We are resellars of both Avid and Black Magic and so make quite a few systems, and contact BlackMagic when the first problems appeared and they said they were aware of the problem with the USB3 devices and were working on it. They did not give us a date on when it would work and I hoped it would be in 9.2 but obviously not. Right now I would either buy something else (a Matrox MX02 works well with the HP laptop) or hand on and see what various users post here.
I do not get the same problems with the PCI2 cards. Intensity Pro works well (to be honest I have not tested that with 9.2 yet because it worked well on 9.1) and so does the Decklink Extreme 3D. We even had a desktop system which had a Shuttle attached and hang a lot, unplugged it, inserted am Intensity Pro, and without even reinstalling the drivers it worked. I think Black Magic stuff works really well with Avid, just not the USB3 stuff.
David Clarke: I think Black Magic stuff works really well with Avid, just not the USB3 stuff.

Thanks David,
this sums it all.
I think you should be the spokesman for both regarding BM and Avid.
Or me. Or both. The world progressed on people trying for others.
P.S. There was another good friend from Sussex at Liquid times.
SussexJohn.
George, I ask about 10-bits b/c Matrox says that the Intensity Pro card is 8-bits.
http://www.matrox.com/video/media/pdf/products/mxo2_mini/en_mini_vs_intensity.pdf
Also, BMD doesn't explicitly say that the Intensity Pro card is 10-bits. But they seem to say that the Shuttle is a true 10-bit device.
P.S. Also, does the Shuttle work with Avid RGB projects or do they have to be YUV? Thanks VERY much!

Bobby,
the Shuttle is 10bit.
I also hope that you have read what I say about Shuttle not being yet (if ever)
the best companion for MC.
If you use PPro or Vegas go with closed eyes.
If you use Media Composer primary as I do, cross your fingers and keep two of them at Ctr+S.
The only thing that doesn't give output is the 1080/24p.
It gives 50i HDMI output from 1080 50i/108025p/25p/25i/24p and p only from 720/25p.
P.S. It's so sad because the flexibility inside MC regarding changing project formats are second to none.
At PPro you have to create a new project each time you want to go from HD to SD. At MC it's a snap...
I hope that the PCIE Intensity would be better, otherwise me and BM are finished till a really better driver.
As far as I am concerned this is BM's mistake not Avid's.
George,
Does the Shuttle work with Avid RGB projects?
Also, are you saying that it only outputs interlaced from 1080 projects? B/c BMD seems to indicate that it should work with 1080P/23.976 and 1080P/24.

BTW, it seems that the Shuttle is very picky interms of USB chipset and drivers. Pherhaps this link to BMD support can help you some:

I see that Matrox article is dated 2009. That may account for the disparity.
Using MC 22.12. Win 22H2 Avid FX6.4, Vegas Pro 20/ DVD Architect 6pro, DVDit6.4proHD, CCE Basic, TmpGe Express4, TmpGe Authoring Works 4, DVDLab-Studio. Sony EX-1R, Canon XH-A1, GL2, GL1, Canon EOS 60D
I don't want to be disrespectful to the professional team of BM.
I have great faith to them and only for the fact that they can produce
such a very good card with such small price tag.
But Shuttle has problems only with Media Composer.
With PPro and Vegas works like a charm.
It can't be USB3 connections or bandwidth problems and honestly I can't believe
that a card should only run onto a really old chip set.
Those papers aren't convincing a professional editor and director.
At least not me.
If something runs flawlessly on two NLE (and I stress the flawlessly) but not on a third this says a lot.
A simple question: the bandwidth is other for PPro or Vegas and other for Media Composer?
If the answer is yes then I understand.
Avid gives them the SDK to work on that. It can't be Avid's fault.
I can understand this:
The other mentioned NLE's were working for a long time with Shuttle.
Media Composer has just entered the game.
It could be run perfectly too. But not now.
You can't even have audio on the preview monitor.
Something that has been said to be corrected but still isn't.
It would be a lot more professional though to make a clear statement
about what is working with what.
TVJohn: see that Matrox article is dated 2009. That may account for the disparity.
A very good guess, but BMD just confirmed that the Intensity Card is 8-bit and the Shuttle models are 10-bit. This makes sense, as the Intensity card is a much older device that came out before deep color HDMI was widely accepted.
BobbyMurcerFan: George, Does the Shuttle work with Avid RGB projects?
It does. Changing from YCbCr to RGB within a project and even while playing makes no difference.
I just bought the Motu HD Express and will receive it next week. I'll give you my impressions after that.
I hope it will work flawlessly with MC6.

George, I just received my Motu HD Express and made some test with it. My first impression is, wow, it's working flawlessly. Everything is smooth.
I made a detailed post about it here.
hey folks
I am warming up this old thread to find out more about BM intensity shuttle USB3 ?
any experience with MC 8.6 ?
looking for USB3/USB-c monitoring gear for a laptop setup, any hint appreciated

Cameras don't lie yet liars may use cameras
I would stay away from the Shuttle USB 3.0. It's pretty flakey and very dependent on what USB chipset and drivers you have.
I'd recommend seeing if there is a way through converters to get an UltraStudio Mini Monitor to work for you.
Maybe post on the BMD forum:
