Yep, that's what I called 'shy timeline' in a previous post, but mine goes up to the left corner of the right monitor.
Same here. I found that moving the Timeline to the top half of the screen first, then resizing it, keeps it from going "shy".

Video Production 101: Delivering the Message
http://bit.ly/1z4tSu8
Consolidating an SD 4:3 sequence with DnxHD media in it (being downconverted/letterboxed by Avid), results in the consolidated clips being the wrong aspect ratio.
Does not happen if the HD media is ProRes MXF.
Didn't see this issue on a quick forum search, so here's my bug:
If I view the timeline for a stereo audio clip in the source window (green playhead), and audio waveforms are active, when I adjust volume in the audio mixer, the waveforms turn off. This happens consistently for stereo tracks, but doesn't happen with split mono tracks.
Project is 1080p/23.98, codec is ProRes MXF.
Thanks
Matt
Not sure if there is a solution to this other than what I already am doing, but I searched and couldn't find anything.
Everytime I create a new project, I have to go into my finder to the new project's directory and then physically add .avp and .avs to the project and settings file. If I don't, the project won't open. ANNOYING....
This isn't a new 6.0 bug, but something I've been experiencing since 5.5
jeabby: . I've posted this one before but I'll do it again. SEGMENTATION FAULT ERRORS while trying to export out to QT or H264. Especially when the timeline is long. Yesterday I tried to export a 25 minute piece but it failed each time. Then I split it into a 10 min export and a 15 minute export. Both succeeded but the program is really supposed to be in one strand. So what am I supposed to deliver to my client? I also have same issue

Have the same issue with a 2 hours HD sequence (mix of DNxHD and QT AMA clips). Same kind of sequence of less than 10 mns works fine. Looks like a memory leak that make the thread crash ?
I get Segmentation Fault errors after doing nothing at all! I've had two today - just from clicking on a window or something equally innocent.

6.0.2 is coming I guess

Please. No speculation about future Avid releases. It's in violation of the terms of use.

NO DISPLAY OF MOTION EFFECT TIMECODE IN SOURCE WINDOW.
Our team of editors has been experiencing this since we switched to Macs and 6.0.1 a few weeks ago. When creating a motion effect, the Source window will not display its timecode. It will show you a frame count or some other option, but not the video timecode. Once you cut it into a timeline, the source timecode will be displayed in the RECORD window's timecode for the video source. If you match back to get the motion effect in your Source window - once again, no timecode display.
Apparently, this only happens with file-based media, not tapes.
Sorry if this is a repeat of someone else's report, but I did a search and came up with nothing.
ERRONEOUS ERROR MESSAGE WHEN INSTALLING?
This one SEEMS to be a bug: when I first installed 6.0.0 on my Mac at home, and again when I installed 6.0.1, I get a message that my Mac is not 64-bit and the install cannot go ahead. I click Continue and it installs anyway, and everything seems to be fine.
From all the research I did, my dual-core Mac Pro from early 2007 IS supposed to be compatible with MC6, so is this just a bug, or should I be worried? I haven't used it extensively at home yet (only at work) but it seems to work fine.
Bug: Improper loading of color profile after switching back and forth between Color Correction and Standard workspaces.
When I switch back from the Color Correction workspace to the Standard workspace (including custom-saved Standard workspaces), Avid seems to be applying my desktop color profile over the video on playback, resulting in a washed-out image. I have to open the Displays property in System Preferences, switch to another color profile for my display, then switch back again to the proper profile and close the System Preferences. Then Avid plays fine.
This has to do with the fact that when I the activate Color Correction workspace, Avid pops the viewer over on to my second monitor, then pops back on to my main monitor. My second monitor being my laptop screen, of course has a different color profile than my main monitor, and Avid seems to "adopting" this color profile when it switches the viewer. I confirmed this theory by setting my laptop monitor color profile to match my main monitor, and then the problem stops.
It is possible for me to use the "set second display to matching but incorrect color profile" for the time being, but this certainly seems to me to be a bug, since it shouldn't adopt the incorrect color profile and it probably also shouldn't pop the viewer onto the other monitor for changing modes.
Are you certain that your mac is booted into 64 bit and that the 64-Bit Kernal and Extensions say "Yes?" I have seen instances where it doesn't persist, and actually boots into 32 bit when restarted.

BIN_TOO_MANY_ITEMS
this is an issue I have had with 4.0 already and am again having
on Media Composer 5.5
I tried it in MC 6.0.1 but 6 beeing a 64 bit application doesn´t
seem to solve the problem.
This occurs when a sequence (a rough cut of a feature film in my case)
gets too long and too complex.
Then Media Composer is unable to save it in a single bin.
My workaround for the last feature film I also edited with Media Composer
(what else?;)) was to split my sequence in half and save
each half to separate bins. In order to play out the Movie as a whole,
I usually made Video and/or audio mixdows which I could then
save in a single bin before exporting.
My current edit is two and a half hours long and makes use of
10 video tracks as well as of the 16 available audio tracks.
The problem usually occurs when my sequence is longer than 90 minutes.
It would be nice to see this fixed somewhen.
Here's a new one:
Using blackmagic hardware (intensity Pro or Decklink HD), OSX 10.7.2, Avid MC 6.0.1. When playing audio clips in the source window, waveforms move but audio doesn't play until about 2 seconds after hitting play. This doesn't happen with video clips which have attached audio, nor does it happen in the timeline window (video clips or audio clips only). Tried changing numerous settings but to no avail. 99% sure it's not a bandwidth issue as we're playing back off a fibre-connected Unity chassis (and as previously mentioned video clips are fine).
