Mbox 2 Mini, Pro Tools 8. I bought this I have all the manuals and cd's.
Just bought a new desktop HP P7-1155 . Intel® Core™ i5-2400, 3.1 GHz, DMI 5GT/s
I am trying to install Pro Tools 8 and each time, after it instructs me to plug-in my Mbox Mini 2, it says "Device Driver Sofware Was Not Succefully Installed", the installation finishes, I restart my computer (at this point my wireless mouse still works). After restart my mouse does not work and Pro Tools does not work.
I unplug the Mbox, connect my other mouse (with a cord) and the mouse starts working, but my Mbox is still not being recognized. Please help I don't know what else to do.

Hey I've just bought an Mbox mini with pro tools express and have had the exact same problem. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers over and over but no change. Windows searches for the drivers and can't find them then it says "device driver software was not successfully installed". You have any luck with yours? I've searched the internet and tried everything and it's starting to drive me insane!

This info might help. I have a mbox mini 2 3rd generation. Had the same problems. Unable to locate hardware etc. I have windows 7. Important steps. Unplug usb from computer. turn off computer. Turn on computer. In back of mbox on the left side of mbox press the two buttons on left in, third button should be out. (front of mbox should be facing you). next turn both gain buttons all the way up. mix button on p/b. volume knob should be on a level where you can hear. Plug in usb cable to mbox. hardware should find its way to correct location in device manager. This should solve playback problems as well as unable to locate hardware problems. If you get a "unknown device" message press the two buttons on back left of mbox out. button on the right should be out as well. keep in mind mbox should be facing you, so you'll have to reach behind the mbox. For recording, press second button in back of mbox on left out(middle button), turn mix button to input
