    MC6 Error "SFPlayConsumer::Execute TIMEOUT"

    I have just installed MC6, running it in trial mode until I can buy a license, and I am getting appearing in the record monitor. The app freezes up and I can't make it work. Anyone else had this issue?

    Meps,

    Knowing your system spec's would really help here....

    MC 6 is the first 64 bit so it requires Mac OS X 10.7.x Lion as well as certain mac hardware.   Did you check the system requirements for Mac before you installed?

    Everything I click on takes forever. I get the spinning beach ball. I looked at the link you had above and it looks like my system is in spec. I also tried making a new user but that didn't make any difference.

    And it also hangs on the Reading "XXXXXX setings" screen for a minute or so. I have also just upgraded to 10.7.2 and it is the same. Let me know if you need any more info.

    And, if you trash those, that might be old system settings from earlier versions, and have Avid to auto rebuild them on startup, will that help

    Properties of that project.

    Where are the media stored, boot drive or other drive

    Re: MC6 Error "SFPlayConsumer::Execute TIMEOUT"

    I totally rebuilt the system from a clean drive. I was using 10.6.8 with 5.5.3. I have uninstalled MC6 and reinstalled 5.5 on the 10.7 system and it works fine.

    I tried old projects and also created new ones. Even a new project with nothing in it drags. I'd press the settings tab and would wait 20sec with a spinning ball before it did anything.

    Properties of project were the default because I removed my old user file and created a new one.

    Media is all stored on separate drives with permissions set to read and write.

    Re: MC6 Error "SFPlayConsumer::Execute TIMEOUT"

    Ok, so you are using a Colour, maybe we have something there, what Euphonic drivers are used and did you activate it in your Avid settings ?

    Any other Artist units ?

    Re: MC6 Error "SFPlayConsumer::Execute TIMEOUT"

    I haven't even installed the Euphonic drivers yet! I just wanted to make sure MC6 worked first in its default form. The only thing I had installed was the Blackmagic desktop 9 that is meant to be for MC6.

    Ok, and what happens if you don´t have that BMD unit connected?

    ( any more surprises about your setup that you haven´t told yet Smile  )

    Re: MC6 Error "SFPlayConsumer::Execute TIMEOUT"

    That's next on the list to try. I'm in Australia and am about to sleep and I'll be out shooting all day tomorrow. If there are any more suggestions in the meantime, I'd love to hear.

    So can I assume it's working fine for everyone else?
