I need to either add comments or add locators to my sequence for reference in an EDL that will accompany an Inferno session. So far everything has gone smoothly until this last time.
I prefere locators because I can generate nice clean lists to print and what-not, plus it gives nice visual cues as to where notes are.
However this most recent time, some locators (very arbitrarily) will not show up on my EDL. My work around was to add comments to these clips and have the EDL show comments as well, however, I would like to not have to do this.
Anyone have any info? Is there a characer limit to locators?
I am at work and do not know the all the hardware specs but am using OS10.5.6, 2.2.66GHz Quad-Core, MC3.1.3 & ELDManager 24.1.3.
Much abliged as always...
I could see one limitation being that comments are one line length in EDL, so less than 70-80 characters if my memory serves me correctly. Is the itent to have the locators in the EDL that gets imported into the Inferno, or just to have man-readable?

Thanks for the response.
I believe it's more to have man/woman- readble . So the end result I want is to have my locators show up in the EDL as they should. I just spoke with another editor and he said he has the same problem so resigned himself to duplicating his locator notes as clip comments.
Also we're editing in 23.976/1080p projects if that's relevant or helpful.
Very weird?!?
If you are looking at wo/man-readable lists, I have used FilmScribe to export a variety if formats. It also has filter for:
1. All events and locators
2. only events with locators
3. show locators only
4. show event with locators but not locators.
5. etc.
The link is a zipped file of several examples: a PDF from the HTML version (hyperlinked), XML, Tabbed, and basic printout. the setting for the locators was only show events with locators and show locators.

Thanks Michael.
It's a really old thread, but I've had this same problem a couple of times, and both times eventually worked it out ... locators on GROUP CLIPS don't seem to show up in an EDL. Replace the GROUP CLIP with just the source you want (is there a quick way of doing this?) and then your locators will show up fine.
It took forever, but in Media Composer versions 2018.12.14, 2019.12.3, and 2020.12, you no longer have to Commit Multicams for Markers to display on Groups!
